Re-customise your Expr3ss! service for free. Did you know that if your website changes, Expr3ss! can refresh the customisation of your service to match? Yes, every so often customers refresh their own web presence to keep up with new branding, new strap lines or even a name change.  When we notice this we can be in touch to recommend a re-customisation of their Expr3ss! service.   Where the change is trivial, we usually do this at our cost, not yours.  And where it’s more extensive we do this more or less for our cost because we know you’ve already paid an arm and…  Read More

MyCareer – Shock Announcement!

12 Oct 2014

Fairfax Media has announced the end of MyCareer, effective Thursday 16th October. Yes, MyCareer is dead.  And although the industry has expected something like this to occur eventually, the announcement of MyCareer’s demise came all-in-a-rush and without any prior warning. There’s absolutely nothing on the MyCareer website but according to their announcement (below), they will transfer current ads to their job aggregator Adzuna when they close for business tomorrow. What does that mean for me? Just one thing less to do or to think about!  No need to ask to post ads on Fairfax channels as Exprsss! sends a priority XML…  Read More

Sky News "Disrupters" Interview on Business IQ with Carrington Clark

In our very first article on Expr3ssion! we promised to write items of real interest… hopefully you, dear reader, agree. We also promised not to promote Expr3ss! … at least not too shamelessly … but we are human and we just can’t resist this week… it was a good one… so forgive us singing our own praises!  Expr3ss! the disruptor featured on TV and in the quality press. We featured on “Sky Business News Technology Behind Business” this week as a “true disruptor”.  A business that truly disrupts also dis-intermediates meaning that it doesn’t just remove friction, it removes one or more…  Read More

Abbott’s forced job applications hurt the unemployed

4 Aug 2014

The superficially attractive proposals from the Abbott Government around work-for-the-dole provisions have come in for some serious criticisms in the past few days since their release. In case you’ve been in suspended animation and missed it, one of the key proposals whose intention is to get job seekers busy, busy, busy making applications, is that unemployment benefit should be contingent upon recipients making no less than 40 job applications per month.  That’s about two a day for each working day. Abbott’s forced job applications hurt the unemployed … let’s do some sums… 40 applications per month x 728,500 unemployed persons…  Read More

What do Gladioli, Daisies, Drakes and Expr3ss! have in common?

Drakes Supermarkets, which employs 5,700 people and operates 57 IGA supermarkets throughout Australia recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary. From humble beginnings as a single-store owner operator, Roger Drake has built a significant challenger to the might of Coles and Woolworths. And Expr3ss! celebrates an anniversary with Drakes this year too.  Not quite the rubies and gladioli associated with a 40th but the “strength, solidity and warmth” of wood and the freshness and vitality of daisies marking our 5th anniversary with Drakes, helping them solve staff selection. The respected trade magazine Retail World recently recognised the contribution Expr3ss! makes to Drakes…  Read More

Just when you thought you were going to get on top of things, along comes Government and asks you for more paperwork! The Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 [wgea.gov.au] requires companies with more than 100 staff to report on a wide range of metrics to do with gender.   The Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 requires non-public sector employers with 100 or more staff to submit a report to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency between 1 April and 31 May each year for the preceding 12 month period (1 April – 31 March reporting period). Windows XP-ires

25 Mar 2014

On April 8th Windows XP officially expires. Are you ready? Yes, the death knell for Windows XP has been tolling for quite some time now.  And from April 8th, Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP with updates… security updates most particularly. Expr3ss! of course, being cloud software is unaffected.   Use any operating system, on any platform, with any mainstream* web browser and Expr3ss! just works.   So Expr3ss! will continue to work with or without Windows XP.     Trained Cyber-criminals are just waiting for you… Informed opinion is that “the bad guys” have been stockpiling vulnerabilities for a year…  Read More
