We are in business to make a difference and figures prove that we have for our long-term client, Michelle Adey, the HR Administrator at Radio Rentals and RT Edwards.   The difference in just three years is massive.  At Radio Rentals, staff retention rates in 2012 were down around 32%.  With the use of Expr3ss! software, the retention rate has doubled and is now up above 64%. Michelle also shared the results from RT Edwards, the Queensland-based electrical retailer.  Staff retention of 20% in 2012 at RT Edwards, has more than tripled to be tracking at 66% in just three years….  Read More

Disruptor featured on TV and in the quality press

In our very first article on Expr3ssion! we promised to write items of real interest… hopefully you, dear reader, agree. We also promised not to promote Expr3ss! … at least not too shamelessly … but we are human and we just can’t resist this week… it was a good one… so forgive us singing our own praises!  Expr3ss! the disruptor featured on TV and in the quality press. We featured on “Sky Business News Technology Behind Business” this week as a “true disruptor”.  A business that truly disrupts also dis-intermediates meaning that it doesn’t just remove friction, it removes one or more…  Read More

Is the professional resume writer a dinosaur?

25 Aug 2014

Let me tell you a story please. A while ago all of us at Expr3ss! were bemused when a professional resume writer criticised Expr3ss! in less than flattering terms.  In fact he was downright nasty about us. This is perhaps not quite so surprising given that our Expr3ss! process disintermediates the need for resume writers, as resumes progressively become less important. But the more we analysed it the more we realised he obviously has no clue about what we do or the care we take to help applicants gain jobs they will love and flourish in. Of course, what he said was ill-informed opinion that…  Read More

What do Gladioli, Daisies, Drakes and Expr3ss! have in common?

Drakes Supermarkets, which employs 5,700 people and operates 57 IGA supermarkets throughout Australia recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary. From humble beginnings as a single-store owner operator, Roger Drake has built a significant challenger to the might of Coles and Woolworths. And Expr3ss! celebrates an anniversary with Drakes this year too.  Not quite the rubies and gladioli associated with a 40th but the “strength, solidity and warmth” of wood and the freshness and vitality of daisies marking our 5th anniversary with Drakes, helping them solve staff selection. The respected trade magazine Retail World recently recognised the contribution Expr3ss! makes to Drakes…  Read More

Just when you thought you were going to get on top of things, along comes Government and asks you for more paperwork! The Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 [wgea.gov.au] requires companies with more than 100 staff to report on a wide range of metrics to do with gender.   The Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 requires non-public sector employers with 100 or more staff to submit a report to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency between 1 April and 31 May each year for the preceding 12 month period (1 April – 31 March reporting period). Whilst there has been talk about raising…  Read More

More red tape means more reports. Without systems and process… reporting can be a real headache.

Do you remember a time when the boss asked you for a report and your heart sank? You knew you had the information but to collate it, total it and display it in any meaningful way was going to take you hours. If this is still the case you need to look at 3 key factors.   1. How do you collect the information now? 2. How do you check it’s valid and correct? 3. How do you need to display it? If you are not collecting correct and valid information then it will take you many hours first…  Read More
