Salesforce World Tour 2017 Carolyne Burns SMB Keynote SpeakerLast week I was invited as a keynote speaker to participate at the prestigious Salesforce World Tour.  The event took place at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Sydney, where I spoke at the Small Business Keynote.  I was given the opportunity to speak in depth about Expr3ss!’s onboarding of Salesforce and how it has allowed Expr3ss! to grow and flourish.

Tech platforms facilitate growth

Expr3ss! is a web-based platform and the team at Expr3ss! are strong advocates of utilising technology at every opportunity in order to best serve our customers plus grow the business.

It is scary for SMEs to invest in technology, there is a real fear that it will cost a lot of money. But it is the unnecessary cost that is the true enemy… more detail here https://wp.me/p4yXnd-ku

A business does need to adapt to technology and be prepared to adopt it quickly otherwise its growth will be hampered.  Adopting technology to resource your team is the way to grow and ramp up fast.  It reduces the “grunt work” and cuts wastage in time and costs in doing business.  It becomes a strategic decision.  The same principal applies for companies incorporating the Expr3ss! predictive hiring technology to assist their HR departments. Implementing Salesforce and Pardot

Back in 2009 Expr3ss! chose to implement Salesforce.  As a founder in the initial stages of growing a business, you get very close to everyone you meet.  You retain a lot of arcane knowledge.  The Salesforce platform provided a way for me to share all of that valuable background knowledge with the growing team.  It was important for my team to have the background on the customers I had grown close to.  Beyond the initial reason to implement Salesforce it gives all the team great insights, great visibility across the functioning of the whole business: operational, sales and marketing, customer service and training.

Expr3ss! has also implemented Pardot which supports the marketing arm of our business. Pardot integrates with Salesforce. Together they support our daily decisions and help us determine what our short-term and long-term strategy should be.

Media attention

The Salesforce World Tour provided me and the Expr3ss! team the opportunity to meet with SME’s and other like-minded entrepreneurs as well as attract some media attention. What’s next

At the end of the day I was reminded of the Charles Darwin quote:

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change”

We’re looking to implement more technology throughout the remainder of 2017 that will help us cut the “grunt work” and drive down our overheads and become even more responsive and productive so that we can continue to deliver our unique hiring technology to more businesses.
